Son of a Sailor, LLC only accepts cash, checks and Venmo. Payment is required at the beginning of the charter.
Cancellation Policy
If, for any reason, you need to cancel your charter, we request a 24 hour prior notice. Since the nature of these outings are weather dependent, we will constantly be tracking weather patterns in our area. If the weather conditions are less than ideal, we will let you know. The captain will make all final decisions regarding the suitability of sailing/boating. Should the captain cancel the charter due to weather conditions, we will try our best to reschedule on a better sailing day for you and your guest(s).
ThE Fine Print
Boating charters, especially sailing charters, are extremely weather dependent. It goes without saying, but we are saying it, we don't have control over the air temperature, water temperature, the sun, the clouds, the way the sun sets, the tides, or the wind. No warranty is made as the suitability of weather with respect to this charter. If necessary, the captain will have the option of terminating or canceling the charter at his sole discretion any time he deems necessary due to the weather.

It is understood that payment for the charter is due upon arrival. The charter fee does not include food, beverages, off - charter excursions, or gratuities.

The captain meets all requirements necessary to legally command the boat in the area chartered. While it is agreed that the charter guests may request general movements and destinations, it is understood that the Captain is in full command, and that the charter guests agrees to abide by his judgement as to clearance, sailing, weather conditions, anchorages, and other pertinent matters.

The charter guests agree that the boat shall be employed exclusively as a pleasure vessel for the sole and proper use of themselves, their family and guests, during the term of this charter, and will not transport merchandise, or carry passengers for pay or engage in any trade, nor in any way violate the laws of any government within the jurisdiction of which the boat my be at any time, and will comply with the law in all other respects.

It goes with out saying, the use, transportation, or possession of illegal drugs or narcotics or of any other contraband, or the participation in any other unlawful activity is strictly prohibited. The participation in any of these activities by the charter guests will be cause for immediate termination of the charter without refund of any payments made by the charter guest(s). The charter guest will be held responsible for any loss or damage to the boat due to any such violations.

The owner of the boats agrees to keep the vessels fully insured against fire, marine and collision risks and with protection and indemnity coverage for the full term of the charter period. The owner and captain shall not be held responsible for loss or damage to personal property or for any injury suffered by the charter guest(s) during the term of this charter, regardless of whether such loss or injury occurs on board the boat or else where, unless such loss is, damage or injury is the direct and proximate result of the owner's sole negligence. More specifically, but without limiting the foregoing, the owner and his insurance underwriters accept no responsibility or liability for accidents, injuries or death related to the boats' equipment, whether or not supplied by the owner or charter guest.

Should the owner and the charter guest be unable to reconcile any differences that may arise with respect to the charter, such disputes shall be submitted first to mediation before a mediator mutually agreed upon by the charter guest and the owner, with the cost thereof divided equally between the parties. Mediation will be in accordance with such roles as the parties may designate agree upon and in the even the dispute cannot be resolved in mediation, then either party may resort to any action lying exclusively in the Courts of the City and State of the owner's residence, unless another place is mutually agreed upon, and both parties shall submit to the jurisdiction of such court.
